A Fairy Exciting Adventure Bundle

Very cute and sparkly. The purple is not my favorite color but still a cute pattern. I have also tried this with regular blanket yarn and it is just as cute.

Took foreverrrr, but was so satisfying to finally finish. I would not call this a beginner kit, maybe beginner+, but it definitely felt intermediate to me.

Placement of the arms are too far back by one stitch imo. It may just be how mine turned out, but I’m thinking about taking the arms off and readjusting them to my liking.

This was my first Woobles experience! I thoroughly enjoyed making both Esperanza the Fairy and the Tiny Flower Wand.

Video instructions for Esperanza were VERY thorough and the all of the questions that came up were answered by the help button. I had plenty of yarn to work with, and I found the glitter yarn was easy enough to work with.

I wish the instructions for the wand were a bit more clear, but I understand it is a more advanced kit. I did run out of pink glitter yarn, so the flower’s shape didn’t turn out as well as I’d liked.

Anyway, I am proud to have finished this kit and really enjoyed putting the work into it. I LOVE how cute this set is and I have been recommending my friends and coworkers to check these kits out.

Esperanza the Fairy - My Experience:

I recently chose the Woobles Fairy Exciting Adventure Bundle kit because I thought it would be a fun and challenging project. It is advertised as suitable for beginner and beginner+ crocheters. I am an intermediate beginner, primarily focusing on amigurumi.

The kit includes a worsted weight medium #4 yarn called "easy-peasy." This thicker yarn is perfect for beginners as it does not unravel or fray easily, making it pliable and easy to work with. The glitter yarn is slightly less flexible, so if you find it challenging to work with, try loosening your stitches a bit for added give. Additionally, the magic circle and the first round of Esmeralda's head are already completed, allowing you to start quickly.

All the materials needed to complete the project are included in the kit, except for scissors. The kit also features tutorial videos and an option to print a PDF pattern, which can be beneficial for more advanced crocheters who may not require additional guidance. (see photo). The printed pattern includes all the same parts of the Fairy as the videos provide.

If you are relatively new to crocheting, I highly recommend starting with beginner-friendly instructional videos. They provide a solid understanding of the basic stitches used in amigurumi. The stitches in this kit are not too advanced for beginners, and the pattern is not overly challenging. However, I did encounter some difficulty with the sewing process. It would have been much easier to attach the balls of hair to the flat hair piece before sewing the flat hair onto the head. Trying to sew through three layers of yarn and stuffing was quite challenging, especially since the pieces I was working with were round.

The accompanying videos are easy to follow and can be paused anytime. They are divided into short segments based on which part of the Fairy you are working on. The pattern lines are displayed on the screen before the instructor demonstrates the stitches, allowing you to match what you are working on with the corresponding part of the pattern, which helps you learn to read it. The project focuses on three basic stitches: the foundational single crochet stitch, the increase stitch, and the decrease stitch. The instructor speaks English, and her instructions are clear and easy to understand. If you have trouble hearing or understanding her, closed captions are available for everything she says in the videos. She does an excellent job of slowly explaining the stitches and pattern parts. I also appreciated her careful demonstration of the sewing portion of the project, particularly how to arrange the pieces symmetrically, which can be one of the more challenging aspects of assembly. Additionally, I like that the video tutorials are available for left-handed crocheters. (see photo).

I appreciate the simplicity and straightforwardness of the pattern for a beginner to beginner+ project. I also appreciate the tutorial support offered through the videos and the additional assistance provided by Woobles customer support. I recommend this kit for beginners+ to more advanced crocheters. However, I do not recommend it for complete novices, as some aspects of the project may be too advanced. For instance, creating the wings without holes, sewing through multiple layers of yarn, and making the number of parts needed to complete the project can be overwhelming for beginners. I suggest that novice crocheters start with a simpler amigurumi from the beginner section of Woobles, such as the frog or bunny, before attempting a beginner+ amigurumi like the Fairy.

If you are a beginner attempting this project, remember that your amigurumi will be unique, just like mine. (see photo). It's important to understand that your finished piece may not look exactly like the one shown by the instructor or on the packaging, so don't be too hard on yourself if it differs. Most importantly, have fun!
