i got this as a gift as part of the turtle-y dino-mite valentine’s day bundle from my friend. i had never crocheted anything before this and i was so proud of how quickly i was able to catch on! however, i knew that as soon as i finished emilio i could definitely improve, so i ended up making another one with my leftover yarn (i named this one shelly, lol). you can definitely see what a difference it makes when all the yarn has even tension—i like to make my stitches a bit snug now to minimize the size of the holes. i’m still happy to have improved so much even after just one project! this was a little bit more difficult than other woobles i have made (such as pierre), as i found the legs and tail to be frustrating since it was so different than crocheting in rounds (but now i love slip stitches, double crochet stitches, and chains!), and i ripped it out so many times. it was super easy on my second one, though! i definitely still recommend, even for true beginners! 🐢💕
