Ok, so technically I "learned" how to crochet 2 years ago. I was using a beginner kit (NOT a Wooble) that was SO bad and I ended up teaching myself to crochet without learning how to read a pattern. Since then I've made plushies, blankets, bracelets, pillows, stress balls, all kinds of stuff by just. Winging it. Never knew how to read a pattern, never knew how to decrease a stitch (I would just skip over the next stitch and do a single crochet into the next one). I mean, it worked, and I made lots of stuff, but I knew I was doing it wrong and it could be so much easier if I just learned properly, but after my first experience with a kit went so badly I was scared. I just kept winging it in my weird way but finally I wanted to actually learn how to read a pattern because I know I can do so much better if I did. And this did not disappoint. First of all, I know how to do an actually decrease now (I was calling my messed up version "the Skip" btw). I can sew things on way better than I could before. And I can FINALLY read a pattern. So my point is; if you're like me and you taught yourself how to crochet but not to read a pattern, these are insanely helpful. I can actually crochet like a normal person now (and I don't need "the Skip" anymore)
